***Insert Attention Grabbing Title**** (About Child Labor Laws)

Quick Question:

I worked (am still working) as a Cashier at a fast food place (11th and 12th grades). But the thing is: I work 15 hour shifts in the weekends with my dad (30 hours per weekend). I’m not forced or anything. I just choose to work there to lighten the load off my dad. I get paid over the table. Shifts are from 3 A.M to 6 P.M. (my dad works crazy hours every day)

If I listed this on the Common App, am I essentially screwed/ does my employer get in trouble/fined? + Would this EC come across as negatively (since I’m kinda breaking the law?)?

  • What if the colleges think I'm just lying? I haven't heard of anyone else doing this.

Any input? Thanks.

Wouldn’t you just say “30 hours a week” rather than saying “15 hours a day, 2 days a week?”

@CheddarcheeseMN That’s what I wrote, although I explained the hours on the more info section.

I don’t think there will be any negative repercussions.

Your title grabbed my attention:-)

I don’t see a problem. Relax.
