Just thought I would offer an FYI as their was discussion about this a few weeks ago. Starting at Noon Eastern Time on the Military Channel for 3 hours the special about the Military Academies.

They've shown it again! Did anyone tape this? I know a few of the parents here don't get that station and would love a copy. It was very interesting. Wish I could have taped it for you guys.

I saved it on the Tivo, I hope. I might be able to transfer to either DVD or tape. Depends if my son returns the main computer back to the family room whether I can burn a DVD. If anyone is interested let me know.

It's going to be on again on September 3rd--The Military channel.
I want to buy the DVd, but it's not for sale. time to figure out how to record from the DVR to a DVD!!

Why can't they show any of the good shows on regular TV anymore?!?!? I've never seen the Military Channel, but I've heard of it several times. We even have Digital Cable and still don't get it. :(

I called our cable provider. I had to upgrade and pay more, but I now have the Military Channel - along with so many other channels that I'll never watch. It's great, but has very limited programming. There are some good documentaries, interesting history shows, and fabulous "reality" shows. The SEALS training is inspiring and looks almost as hard as Beast. ;)

this was on last week, very cool to watch. i would suggest to pretty much everyone that posts here (i assume you are all interested in the military in some way) to get the military channel. theres a lot of great stuff on there especially the six part series on SEALs training.

Let's continue this conversation after Army's football team gets humiliated first by Notre Dame and then by Navy! ;)

I actually think that it looks mildly harder than beast (especially when they tell the water temperature!).

Is this the series that shows the current GEN Abizaid as the commandant of cadets and thus a 1star? If so, this was filmed when my husband was a P there....

Don't even try to joke about BUD/s being easier then "Beast". That would be the biggest lie you ever EVER told yourself. Plebe Summer at any Academy is a "friggin" joke, don't even try to make it sound hard, it's probably the easiest time at school.

Our plebe thought plebe summer was fun! Even scarier, her big sis thought Marine Corps boot camp was fun.

But then, they grew up on Coronado and watched BUD/S training firsthand. They used to set up a stand on our street and sell Gatorade and Powerbars to the SEAL wannabes.

Thinking boot camp is fun has to make you wonder what their home life was like, no?

davy,

It really was just a joke. I have nothing but complete respect and gratitude for those who tackle SEAL training. That said, I agree that aspects of plebe summer are fun, but I would not dis all the plebes by calling it a "joke". I'm sure many find a challenge sometime during the summer.

Maybe at Navy....................:)

Has anyone confirmed that it will be on again September 3? I havent been able to find it on comcast listing it. Anyone have any luck?
