<p>These aren't what you're looking for at all (I feel like the person recommending a state school to the kid who wants LACs), but they're really good films about succeeding/not succeeding academically, even if they aren't "inspirational." </p>
<p>The History Boys is a slightly dark comedy about admissions to Oxbridge.
The Paper Chase is an AMAZING movie about attending Harvard Law and learning to take charge of one's education and handle the pressures involved.
And The Class is a weird French movie that was nominated for Best Foreign Film this year; it's a twist on the "teacher saves inner-city kids from life of poverty" theme.</p>

<p>Good Will Hunting is pretty good. But Men of Honor and Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, are by far more inspirational.</p>
