Instant Decision Day

I have an instant decision day this week and the school is coming to my community college. How should I dress? Do I have to dress nice or wear casual clothes. Also what should I expect. Will there be an interview? Thanks.

You don’t have to deck out a suit and tie or anything like that, but just look nice and presentable. You will be watched and perhaps judged by how you carry yourself on campus.

What is an instant decision day?

I didn’t realize colleges took their show on the road. Instant decision days, @turqluv, are days when students can take their application (and whatever other documents the college requires) to the college (or wherever the college is holding it) and have an admission decision by the end of the day.

I think The Didactic is right, @Mets06. There’s no need to dress formally. You can check the college’s website to see what they require from students on instant decision days. The transfer advisor at your cc should be able to give you some information too. Good luck!

Instant decision day: Area colleges are coming to visit the community college to look for students to enroll. They’ll examine the transcript and are authorized to make an admissions offer right away. Their aim is to get students into their school (vs. losing them to another school). This is commonplace with all community colleges. The 4yr colleges know they can be a good source of qualified students in which to enroll. People tend to forget that MOST colleges FIGHT DESPARATELY to enroll students.
