yea, which colleges offer full tution scholarships to international transfer students?

Someone mentioned WashU earlier from their experiences as a transfer, but washu also gives out roughly twelve full-tuition scholarships plus a $1K stipend to kids in the College of Arts and Sciences

We're out of state, and our daughter was offered some sort of full scholarship, so I remember thinking that they are defintitely trying to attract good students from out-of-state as well.

It seems to be a really good school (EECS department, anyway), our daughter had just a wonderful visit to a lab she was interested in - she was very impressed with the people there, both technically and from a personal standpoint. I also had a long conversation with the Dean of Engineering who struck me as a very caring person and who had some wonderful advice.

She didn't wind up going there, so we can't give that sort of recommendation, but we were impressed all-around, and it's worth serious consideration.

wow very helpful sites!

I'm doing this from memory, so I'm not exactly sure what's up a couple, but here are the ones I was given

Ursinus College- Zacharias Scholarship for $25,000---I think about 10 incoming freshmen get it

Bucknell University- Bucknell Scholarship of 10,000 I believe if SATs are above 1350 and applicant is in top 10% of class (I think)
Presidential Fellowship- a lot more money (not sure exactly how much) with added bonuses like research w/ faculty, etc. The letter I got said there were 100 Fellows on campus

Lafayette College- Marquis Scholarship of 16,000 plus any extra need (including room/board) is covered by grants rather than loans/work study- lots of added bonuses too. I think they said about 10% of students are Marquis Scholars. This is the one I decided to accept. They also offer Trustee Scholarships of 8,000 to need w/ slightly less bonuses.

If it's any help as a reference point, my SATs were 2240 and I was top 2% of a class of about 260 with "solid" but not amazing extracurriculars plus National Merit Finalist. I know some of these aren't exactly "full rides," but they're still quite an amount. Sorry I don't remember the exact details, but I thought these scholarships from (what I consider to be) very good colleges should be up here.

presidential fellowships are awarded to 25 incoming students per year and are worth $12500 annually. fellows also gain access to special on-campus internship opportunities.

deans scholarships are awarded to an additional ~125 incoming students per year and are worth $10000 annually. to be considered for this award students generally need to be in the top five percent of their high school classes and score above 1360 on the sat. these scores to not assure an award.

also note that both of these awards are mostly 'above-need' in nature. a large majority of both presidential and deans scholarships are reserved for applicants with demonstrated financial need.

First of all, thanks to everyone for all of their input. I am currently working on a manuscript for sourcebooks specific to this topic. Please note. lets cut all the extraneous questions and stuff on here. I designed the thread simply as a listing in the format mentioned on the first page. Let's stick to that. Also, some people had specific questions such as- who wins these awards at .... If you have those, PM me.

Interesting note than many parents are not aware of. For many students, recieving a full-ride scholarship means their parents will have to pay taxes on that portion of the scholarship that includes room and board.

If available, please post the number of scholarships available under the categories posted. Thanks.
