Intensive Language (Japanese 10) over summer

Is this a good idea? Does anyone here have experience with taking this class over summer?

I took an intensive language summer course at Berkeley (not Japanese though). It’s definitely manageable, but it’s a lot of work. You’re essentially condensing a year’s worth of language into 8-10 weeks, so the pacing is very rapid. You’ll have daily homework, weekly tests, and plenty of memorization besides that. I would definitely not take any other classes at the same time, because you’ll want to devote all your time to learning the language, otherwise, you’ll fall behind pretty quickly. Japanese is also one of the harder languages to learn, from what I hear. Anyway, you should be fine, but my suggestion would be to not have too many other activities going on at the same time so you can focus on the language course.
