Interested in the Schools with Good Aerospace Programs

Hello, I am a high school senior interested in aerospace engineering. I would like to know my chances for getting into the schools I am applying to, and for a AFROTC scholarship.

Here are my stats:
1) GPA: 3.47 UW, 3.83 W
2) SAT: 2100 (Math: 720, Reading: 680, Writing: 700
3) ACT: 31
4) Sports: Cross Country (Team Captain) and Track and Field
5) Extracurriculars: Model UN, VEX Robotics (Team Supervisor) , California Scholarship Federation, Freshman Mentoring Program Mentor (program is run by the school), worked as a lab assistant for 2 teachers teaching honors chemistry over the summer (company was called DPIE).
6) Classes: 6 AP classes and took 7 AP tests. 5 4s, 1 3, and 1 5.
7) Awards: Dublin School Board Integrity in Action Student Award, Scholar Athlete Award, Principal Honors Rolls.
8) As for the AFROTC, I am in pretty good shape.

The schools that I would like to get into are (some of these are long-shots):
1) Georgia Tech
2) UMICH Ann Arbor
3) Purdue, Main Campus
4) CU Boulder
5) UCSD
6) UI Urbana Champaign
7) UT Austin
8) UCLA

Thanks

I assume that you understand that the odds of getting a AFROTC scholarship that you can take out of state are very small. 75% of AFROTC scholarships are restricted to in state public schools. Only 5% will pay full tuition at out of state or private universities. I suggest that you have plans for both possibilities.

Frankly, I do not know your chances at most of the schools you list. I would predict that only Purdue and CU Boulder are safeties. It looks like you are a California resident. UCLA is harder to get into than UCSD. Seems like UCLA is a slight reach (very slight), but UCSD is a solid match.

The average stats for students who get full tuition out of state AFROTC scholarships is:
GPA: 3.9
ACT: 33
SAT: 2150

See this webpage: http://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/eligibility

So, the chances are that you will not get an AFROTC scholarship which will not pay full tuition to an out of state university. You do have a very good chance to get an in state scholarship.
