So here is my short story to sum it up.I went to community college and screwed up and got my GPA low to enough under 2.0 (1.7 when i left). I didn't fill out Fafsa because ,at the time had the money,i was paying out of pocket and dropped out two years ago.At the time i was going through tough times with family.Fast forward to today. All those things are taking care of now and Im thinking about going back to school and instead of going to the same college going to a different one with financial aid. I understand that i transfer i will start over with a new GPA but know that my past transcripts from my old school will come to haunt me .My financial situation is better but my money is still a little tight(so cant pay out of pocket anymore). My question is will i still qualify for financial aid? If not what other options do you recommend i can do?

Are you an independent student?

You should be able to qualify for aid at your new school, but the best way to know for sure is to talk to the aid office at the new school.

for 4kidsdad yes i am an independent student

You should file FAFSA for the new school.
