Because some people find public service worthwhile. Oh, and because sometimes (rarely) law schools will repay your student loans if you do that.</p>

He only analyzes jobs that think they're less prestigious/pay less well than law jobs are perceived to make. Jobs in the corporate world will still be interested in students with high-powered (that may be the key here) law degrees.</p>

<p>I think the internet (including blogs and forums) attracts a lot of bitter, elitist lawyers. that blog posting certainly seems to fall in that category.</p>

<p>I do think the posters on this site give some honest feedback on the drawbacks of a career in law.</p>

<p>I think if you go searching here you will find that article has been discussed at least two times before, particularly since it is over two years old.</p>

<p>It sounds like the person who wrote that article is quite bitter and unhappy. Practicing law is not always easy or lucrative, but for many, it certainly isn't the horrible career choice described in that article.</p>
