Interesting philosophy classes to attend at Columbia?

I’m a high school student that will be in New York City to visit colleges in a few weeks. I am very interested in philosophy and would like to sit in on some interesting courses while at Columbia. So, I guess, my question is something like: if you could attend any undergrad classes at Columbia for a session, which would you choose? Are there any lower-level courses at Columbia taught by well-known philosophers? Do you know of anything that might interest a student who will only be able to attend one class? I’m sorry if this is not the right place to post this type of question; any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Also, when are Columbia’s midterms?

Definitely check out Achille Varzi’s Symbolic Logic course, which meets T/Th from 1:10-2:25. My son is a philosophy major and Varzi is probably his favorite professor. If you’re into Hegel and Nietzsche, you might also check out Taylor Carman’s History of Philosophy III, which meets M/W from 11:40-12:55.

Midterms (for classes that have midterms) are generally late October.

Thanks for the input! I’ll be sure to check these classes out.
