Hey guys,
I'm a rising junior who's interested in checking out banking/finance for my junior summer. I transferred from a LAC after my freshman year. Here's some relevant info:

LAC:

GPA: 3.83
Relevant Courses: Intro micro (A), Calc 2 (A), Linear Algebra (B+)

Brown

GPA: 4.0
Intermediate Micro (A), Multivariable Calc (A), ODE's (A)

I'm technically a math major but have realized that I'm more interested in philosophy. I have two options at this point:

1) Take one math course in the fall, apply to a bunch of places as a math major.

2) Switch to phil, take no more math courses.

The advantage to two is that I'll take a bit more phil and I won't have to trudge through more problem sets. Also, I've taken a reasonable amount of math/econ but I'm not sure how much firms would look at this. I mean, on paper it would be 3.9 math vs. 3.9 philosophy even though these two are only separated by one math class.

Is it worth taking the math class in the fall? I get the sense that billing myself as a math guy is a huge advantage.

Thoughts?

Thanks a lot,
Newbie
