Interests changed Sophomore year of High School

Ok, so for my first two years of high school, I had been interested in Engineering. This led me to do two engineering courses (Project Lead The Way) and do a bunch of engineering-focused clubs. As my sophomore year winds to an end, I'm starting to become less interested in Engineering and more interested in Business. My plans for junior and senior year are to continue my engineering courses and clubs, but add a few business-focused clubs in (the classes at my school aren't too advanced, and would just reteach me what I already know).

How would this look to business schools (undergrad)? I know it wouldn't look horrible because they know people change their minds, but would it put me at a disadvantage when compared to a student who has focused on business courses their entire 4 year high school career (although, as I'm writing this, I'm realizing people like that are rare)?

Business courses are not usually offered in HS and they are not usually college prep, more vocational I suppose. Any college will look at your overall preparation in all core areas. Math, science, English, foreign language, history, art. Everything else is electives. Undergrad business schools will like students good at math and English/communications and probably foreign languages. I think your engineering activity will be a positive.

English, so far I have all A’s. In Pre-Calc (Freshman year) I got a B- and AP Calc BC I’m getting a B.

In addition, next year I’ll be doing Multivariable Calculus and expect to get an A-, and then AP Stat in Senior year, and I expect an A.

bump
