So the Interfaculty of Arts and Sciences has a tuition of $14,000 while the Faculty of Science has a tuition of $20,000 (according to web-site). Although I believe I would prefer the Faculty of Sciences, my parents will not let me choose that Faculty for $6000 more a year.

I have a couple concerns:

-Does the interfaculty have as much camaraderie as the the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Sciences? I heard that the individual faculties form their own tight-knit community.

-How restrictive is scheduling in the interfaculty? I know I want to pursue a Ph.D in Evolutionary Biology after undergrad and take many evolution courses at McGill. Will I have a hard time doing this since I have to take many liberal arts courses?

I am a fan of the liberal arts but I just hope the Interfaculty is not too restrictive to my academic plans.

the facutly of arts and sciences is relatively new (< 5 years) and each student follows a very individualized program, so I am unsure of the camaraderie. you shoudl nto be too concerned though, you will form a camaraderie within your classes and with the science kids and with the arts kids. these tight-knit scenarios are only apparent during frosh and carnival, and largely apply to management and engineering… who tend to stay close together and only have classes with each other.

arts and sci are very interrelated and you will meet tons of kids from both faculties as a member of ArtSci

in terms of Evolutionary Bio stuff, you should not have a problem. Look at the ArtSci descriptions in the course calendar online, but i believe you can take most of the classes as you wish within either program.
