This program has a great rep and looks great on the school's website. Design Intelligence ranks it highly, on par with VA Tech's. However, we are WA residents and may only be able to afford the Interior Design program at WSU. Does anyone know anything about how the programs compare, and any financial aid that might be available to OOS residents at U of O should my son get into the program?

PS - My wife is Duck and would love another Duck in the family.

I don’t know anything about that particular program, but as far as aid goes, there are quite a few pools of scholarship funds that are awarded to incoming freshmen. So are restricted to Oregon residents, but certainly not all. If you look for threads farther down on this forum you’ll find some posts from out-of-state parents talking about various offers of scholarship aid that their kids received last year. My recollection is that it was not very large amounts, but of course every bit can be a help. Of course, you have to actually apply to see what will turn up, there isn’t a way to know in advance of applying.

Good luck! At least you also have an in-state program at WSU, but it could be worth applying to UO and VA Tech so you can compare options.

Thanks, I appreciate the financial aid advice.
