So, I'm an internacional student from Brazil and i'd like to know if the universities care more about the GPA or the SAT/TOEFL
As my GPA is not big deal (something about 7.5/10), do you guys think that with a 1900 SAT score and a 100/120 in TOEFL I can get into in universities like Boston University and Washington University?

Sorry, I meant University of Washington.

TOEFL is a “threshold” credential, meaning that, past the college’s minimum, any additional point will not help you. But 100/120 is usually not a problem.

If ClassBase can be trusted, a Brazilian 9/10 is the same as an American 4.0, and 7/10, an American 3.0 (I might be off the mark; admittedly I am more familiar with Indian, Canadian and British grading) so please take my verdict with a grain of salt; 3.25 will be my “best estimate” for chances. Plus I assume that you have some extracurriculars. You chose to attend schools with poor financial aid; is that a problem?

BU: Reach
UWA: Reach

Is your safety somewhere in Brazil?

You have a chance of getting accepted into both of those schools, except Washington University would be more difficult.

Uhm, I heard some international students talking that it depends on where you live, the GPA changes. I heard some american friends of mine saying that the high school there is a little bit easier then here, So I wonder if my Gpa can increase, (to a 3.4, maybe) What can I do to be accepeted in UW Seattle? Any advices?
