i am an international students, graduating with an average of 8.0/100
my SAT 1 score is 1650, essay : 8 and math: 630 Verbal 500
anyone have an idea about my chances to enter university of washington, seattle

Wait...your average is an 8%?

i mean it is 80% not "8"

Ok...in THAT case you can get into a college after, but probably not UW. It's a sizeable reach.

Washington is almost impossible with a B- / 1650. BUT, Seattle University is a great school and nearby. Also, Gonzaga university is great as well.

but in collegeboard i saw that 90% of applicants submit the same score of SAT as the one i had. O .. i mean i want to enter udap not wash univ in st louis

I know what you're talking about. University of Washington (state). Please realize that SATs are not the end all. GPA is just as (if not slightly more) important. Your GPA is low for UW's standards, and SATs are just around the 25th %ile.

It's a reach. Try University of Western Washington. That's more in your ballpark.

so your GPA was around a 3.0?

that isn't a bad GPA at all. If you can get it up to a 3.5 or so i think you could get in

i get 83/100 if based on my calculation in the GPA 0.83time4 it is 3.3 something. actually i am an international students coming from indonesia. yeah my toefl is 247 in computer based but SAT is really hard for us. hope there is a chance. just hope, i guess the admission are closed for any universities... just make a guess

You're from Indonesia? What's with the username Levin? I figured you were a European or Israeli Jew...

well heavenwood maybe u shouldn't be judgin

ahhahhahaa . . . yeah levin is my bapthist name... i don't know whether the admission will have some consideration for us... for some reason is not a country that uses english as our first language. fortunately i graduated from a school that uses english as its background

Gilderswat I wasn't judging. I was just curious is all.

since you're international, an 80% may not mean what it does in the US. I know that it doesn't at my school, since we're on the IB full time, 80% translates to a 6, which is a 4.0 on the GPA scale. You may need to have your guidance counsellor tell you how your school, and your program, translates percentage to grades because it is probably different.

i am using a counsellor, i didn't know whether she will did the same, however what do u maen by 8 to 6?. i am actually using the Australian New south wales, certificate. it is very confusing for my chance, since i am waiting for udap for at the same i also have to accept UNSW offer. this is confusing
