Internatioal School vs. Small American Public

I currently go to a small public school, thats a bit poor. But it's an overall good School, I can take a lot of AP courses there like:
AP BIO, AP PSYCH,AP PHYSICS,AP CHEM, AP CALC, AP EURO, COLLEGE FRENCH, COLLEGE ENGLISH, AP ART.

Thats a pretty good amount of ap courses for a small school. But I've also been given an opportunity to go to a more private school, but its out of the country! It's in Dakar, Senegal. And It's called the International School of Dakar. My dad was assigned in Senegal for work(IBM). It's an American school, so I'd be learning american curriculum.

I told my dad that I'd tey the school out for my Sophmore year of Highschool which is this coming school year. But I'm hesitant about spending my remaining years of high school over there.

Do Colleges, like stanford. Take into consideration where you graduate from? Would it benefit me more to go to that private school, or can I stay in that public school knowing I get the same chances of getting Stanford, that I would if I went to a private school?

As students what would you do? I'm really hesitant, because I'd be leaving all my friends behind, and I've already somewhat made a name for myself with teachers in my current school. And it's not like there aren't IVY acceptences in my current school just this year, a boy was accepted to Harvard and Princeton and last year our val. went to Penn. soo. opinions?

Thanks!

I say go for it. You may never have the chance to see lions and antelopes again

PS- You didn’t have to tell us where your dad works

I am currently transferring from private to public. Although privates seem to build a big name for themselves I personally feel that private schools are engineered toward the average student rather than the smart the one. All private schools run through is their overall scores. Therefore if they can improve their middle class and lower class ther scores go much higher than if they concentrated on their ap classes.

I say stay at your current school because high school is more than a bridge between you and college. It is a means for you to express yourself through school but also friends and sports or clubs. To restart in a new place means finding new friends and putting old ones on the backburner for a little while.

@doratheexploree i forgot to take that out, i copied this from a message i sent someone i knew, ive been to the country multiple times before for summer vacation, so its not like ive never been there.
