I’ve been trying to find some colleges that meets these criteria:

Unlimited Financial Aid for international students (i.e. no limits on aid that foreign student can receive)

Full Ride (100% financial aid) if total household income is below a certain level, e.g. Harvard and Princeton give full aid if total income is below $60k

Need Blind admission <— I definitely need this one because I NEED maximum financial aid, and there’s no point of applying if they’re going to reject me in the first place.

The list I’ve come up with so far is: Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Williams, Swarthmore.

The problem is that these are mostly Ivy Leagues. I know that only the best colleges will give financial aid to a student in my position, but I need some help in finding more schools, and more importantly, schools a bit less selective. BTW, assume I have a high enough SAT score.

Hmmm I want to know too. By the way, Brown, Columbia, Cornell and Swarthmore are not need-blind for international students. HY, Williams, Amherst, Dartmouth, and MIT are. Not sure about Princeton.

I don’t think blind admission is a necessity for you. Need aware doesn’t mean that they won’t accept you if you need a lot of aid. What it means is that for the students who are qualified to be admitted but don’t necessarily stand out in the applicant pool the admission committee may consider ability to pay in making their selections. Put another way, if the admissions committee is trying to decide between two equally qualified students to fill up the class and one can pay the full price and one can’t the one who can afford the full tuition will probably be the one admitted.

I think you probably do need to apply to schools that meet the full demonstrated financial need of each applicant, not all schools do.

QuasiProfound, a little correction – Cornell is need-blind, but they say that they are most likely to give you nothing if you are an international (or very, very, little). In other words, your financial status doesn’t matter when they consider you for admission, so you are allowed to apply for outside scholarships if admitted.

And Pea is very correct. I am an international and got some very generous financial aid packages from Carleton and other good LACs, even though they are need aware. Expand your search so that it includes need aware schools who give out pretty decent amount of aid to internationals, too.

hey, i know that this may not be the right place to ask this, but i cant really think of another place…so, here goes…If you were to apply for something like maximum financial aid at a place like UPenn or Stanford, but you are guaranteed some funding from an external source, will this increase your chances of admission if your qualified since you require less funding from the university?
