International Affairs

Hey you guys I just recently got accepted into FSU and I wanted to know how good their International Affairs is. I looked on their website but I want an outsider's view both good and bad. Most perferably I would want to hear from current students but anyone else is welcome to answer thanks.

I have a few good friends who are IA majors. All but one had the opportunity to go to all the other state universities and ended up choosing FSU. It is a “top-notch” program, and I think it might be ranked pretty high as well.

Oh and all of them are pretty involved in some International/Global Affairs meetings and opportunities which take place regularly (at least once a month, AFAIK.).

thanks…do they have any pre-reqs that they might want us to take before claiming the major. Also can you ask your friends was the classes intense, do they have a curved grade scale, or is it just I guess a very relaxed air about the program meaning not competitive? thanks

…does anyone else have any other information about the International Affairs program

From my experience it is all in the professor. For example, Intro To Intl. Affairs class had 1class of 90 with a pretty interesting professor…except that his tests were horrible! The highest grade on the first test was an 80, so most people were really upset as there were only 3 tests in the entire semester, all weighted the same. The Religion class professor was AWESOME and much easier. It varies, but none are a cake walk. Go look at the link to the major and you will see all the courses and also suggested courses to get an idea. The Study Abroad program is top notch.

thanks alot you guys, you cleared up alot of things for me
