<p>Okay I read the International Aid thread on the top but I was wondering how good of a chance an international student has at getting financial aid at state schools like UC, UNC, U Ill, U Mich...etc. If they can get finaid, how much should they expect?</p>
<p>I'm not asking for myself (I'm a US citizen)...I'm asking for my friend who's Australian.</p>

<p>They should not expect any aid, if they should get aid, it would then be gravy.</p>
<p>Each of the schools websites will have a section as to how they deal with aid for international students.</p>
<p>As for my knowledge, few state colleges are giving financial aid to internationals. they may mostly offer some kind of merit scholarships. (limited of course.) It is widely accepable sense that those private colleges tend to give more FA to internationals, take some LAC's as examples.</p>
