I have a friend who is an international student and has not gotten their finaid package from colleges yet and is very worried about what kind of income they'll receive. Comes from a low income family so if they were a U.S. citizen would get a generous aid package, but as an international student I have no idea. She's got very good stats, taking 7 APs this year and making straight A's, and 9/567 (I know it's five hundred something). She's waiting to hear from the University of Arkansas (her dad works there, so she might get in-state tuition), Boston University, and Emory:Oxford. Really just a general idea of what international students receive would be very helpful.

It is usually very bleak for internationals. I was trying to help a good friend’s daughter come to the US for school. Her parents could have only afforded $500 a year (no joke) and her academic stats were unbelievable (as in, almost perfect - even the TOEFL scores). She got into lots of schools, but nowhere with aid. Aid for internationals, as I understand it, comes from a separate, and very limited, pot of money.
