International American University (IAU)

Is this an accredited Medical School? I emailed them and they replied back (I wasn't exepting them to reply back though) saying the minimum GPA is 2.5 and the MCAT is not mandatory however if one has taken it the score will help its Admission Committee to know the strength and weakness of the area so they can help one in the needed area.

So what should I make of this guys? Is it a legit Medical School? YES, NO? How do I find out if it is or not?

Why Mr Patel, are you starting to doubt "Plan A"? ;)

Okay, if you're serious about loooking offshore, I suggest Guadalajara in Mexico as the best school of its kind.

Guadalajara is probably the best place to study Medicine outside of the U.S., Puerto Rico & Canada.
The school is well designed, quite serious about its academics and very well endowed financially. Americans who are admitted (and this is not an automatic process by any means) find they are in a very tightly constructed teaching program that generally leads to one of 3 successful outcomes:

1)Transfer to a U.S school after 2nd year, or

2)Acceptance to a Fifth Pathway Internship after 4th year, or

3)"Pre-graduate Internship" and a year of Social Service in Mexico (for a total of 6 years), followed by entry into a USGME-accredited Residency in the U.S.

(interestingly, quite a few Americans are happy enough with life in "Guad" that they look forward to their last 2 years there and do not seek early repatriation).

In any case, details abound on their website: http://www.uag.mx/medicine/default.html

PSedirish, I still am pretty confident that I can get in to a US medical School. And I was not doubting plan A, just being open minded and exploring other options. Thanks for the reply anyway.

dont go to IAU its not that good!

Kiran88us can I ask you why , it's isn't that good? any bad experience?

IAU is one of the reasonably good schools in the Carribbeans. Its been open for five years and is affiliated with Texas A&M Commerce for premedical classes.
