I am applying from Canada.

Nowhere in the application does it ask for my school's official transcript / documents.

I read on their site that they'll ask for it if they admit you? But I fail to see how they can decide without our marks.

I don't know my California GPA (or any GPA for that matter) since I'm in Canada. Does an 80+ mean an A in the States as well?

So I'm wondering, should I ask for a transcript from the school and just mail it in to their address? Or get my Counselor do it, or just not send one until requested?

Thank you very much.

Fellow canadian here (berkeley freshman) :)

I sent one anyways, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Last year, there was a section to self report your grades, pretty sure it should be there this year too.

And no, a 90 is an A in the states. I know, horrible.

Any transcript mailed in will simply be recycled along with other spam.

On the application, you fill in your grades. Those provide the GPA information needed to determine admissions. Only much later, if you are enrolling at Cal, will they ask for the transcript to validate the information you self-reported.

Thanks for all the replies.

What if I’m in IB, and my marks get converted at midterm? Should I put what they will be converted into?
