I'm taking the HL Spanish IB exam in two weeks, and I was hoping I might get some credit from Cornell if I do well.

However, only a dismal number of IB exams are awarded transfer credit, according to:

Are those seriously the only IB exams that transfer?=/

Ah, well I guess it's not that bad, but if this chart is wrong and a 6 or 7 could get me credit, that would really provide some much-needed motivation at this point =] lol

Call the department and check with them.

I’m a transfer student and my local university gave me credits for all of first year philosophy for TOK (which isn’t listed). However I might’ve lucked out because those credits can now transfer =D

It’s as dismal as it looks.

It’s too late for you to do this, but other students who are facing your situation in the future might want to take AP tests in their IB subjects (both HL and SL). It’s expensive and time-consuming, but it often results in credit.

My daughter came into Cornell with an IB diploma, with two 6s and a 7 on her three HL exams. She got no credits on the basis of her IB scores. Zero. Zip. Nada. But she also took eight AP tests – some on the basis of IB courses, some on the basis of actual AP courses. She got credit for all eight, for a total of 30 credits.

@ goddessxx
you received credits for TOK??? seriously?
@ shalala
“that would really provide some much-needed motivation at this point”
lol i’m in the same situation right now
(how was english paper 1 for you btw?)
regarding the IB credit thing in the link you sent
i think the only IB courses NOT listed are:
History Geography and…Art?
which is not that big of a deal imo
but i think cornell, just like most US universities, don’t really recognize IB?
