International Relation Major?

S is going to double major in international relations and political science at Boston University. Tuition is typical $32,000 or so but BU offers a lot of merit aid. I don't know their financial aid policy for international students. The Trustee Scholarship is open to internationals-- that's full tuition. Deadline is December 1 and as you can imagine it's VERY competitive.

From the stats you posted you have a good chance of admission into the College of Arts and Sciences.

Pft. drinking age is 18 south of the border!

Brown has a very good international relations concentration, with its own institute.

Yale does not have an international relations major.

Financial aid for international students is often very limited so you might start your search looking at what US schools offer such aid to international students. As a second step you might want to look at your other requirements such as geographic location, size of school, etc. Only then would I worry about whether the school has an IR major. You can easily recreate an IR major at any liberal arts school and there are few perks that come with having an undergraduate IR degree. It is more the skills and educational background that you obtain along the way versus that you have an IR major.

you should really look into Georgetown; it has its own International Relations College!

Georgetown=not near candian border

Brown, Georgetown, Cornell, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Michigan...in no particular order.

Thanks for all the input. I'll check into the schools and I'll see what will come of it. And by the way, Considering that I'm in Alberta, Mexico is probably as far away, in terms of schools, that I wouldn't even consider it, sorry!

Georgetown is in Washington DC though right? That's not too bad. I do want to get a IR major and not just a concentration, it will help me with where I want to go in the job market.

Take a look at Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. Great international affairs major, loves international students and has financial aid available for them, might be more of a match with your grades (89% average) than most of the other schools mentioned so far. Here's the link:
