Can anyone please help me find a few colleges to look at for IR? I've seen Georgetown, and I am truly impressed by the college. Yet, I definitely need to balance out my choices of schools to apply to since Georgetown would be a reach for me. My idea for my future is to work for the government in some sort of IR field, so any and all input would be graciously accepted. Thanks in advance.

american, tufts, g.w., uchicago, bu

Georgetown, Tufts, Hopkins, Princeton, GWU, Brown, Northwestern

i didn't know northwestern had IR for undergrad.

Georgetown, Tufts, JHU, American, GWU and Princeton all have great programs.

You might want to consider what a lot of people do and just major in history for undergrad maybe at a cheaper school and just focus on getting masters at one of those schools listed above.. depends on whether you want to go from Undergraduate to field.

northwestern has International Affairs which is fairly similar to IR.

i always get confused with IR...is it connected with policitcal science?

Very much so.

BTW, how is the American University of Paris for IR? I'd rather go there, but if a degree from Georgetown or JHU is gonna look a lot better I guess I'll go there instead. I'm pretty sure, I can get in to both, so yea.

More second level schools for those who can't get into Georgetown, GW, or American are ....George mason, Towson, Goucher, Randolph Macon, & James Madison.

Macalester college has one of the best departments in the country for an International Affairs major (you can concentrate in IR), not to mention a very international student body to supplement your studies....

Hopkins and G'town

conn college, middlebury, tufts

Gourman rankings for undergraduate International Relations:

Tufts
Princeton
Johns Hopkins
Georgetown
U Penn
Harvard
Cornell
U Wisconsin Madison
MIT
Stanford
UVA
Notre Dame
US Air Force Acad
US Military Acad
Claremont McKenna

also not to mention that Kofi Annan (the UN general) was a Macalester Alum

I don't think the US Air Force Academy has International Relations. I was interested in attending it, and I remember the fact they didn't have it was a reason why I didn't choose it. I have the catalog and international relations, nor international affairs is in it.

The US Air Force Academy has an International Relations concentration within the Political Science Department. The Poly Sci curriculum has an emphasis in IR.

Huh, I didn't know that.

Well does anybody know how the American University of Paris ranks in terms of IR? I know it doesn't even get considered that much because not that many people know about it.

bumpty bump
