International Relations at Harvard

Hi,

I was browsing the Harvard Kennedy School of Government site looking for information about an International Relations (or affairs) undergraduate degree program, but it seems there's no undergraduate program for this concentration.

Does anyone know if there's a similar concentration with an undergraduate program? As there's in Columbia, NYU, etc.

Thanks.

Very few universities offer IR as an undergraduate degree. Columbia does not offer an IR major for undergrads. Princeton, Georgetown and Tufts are three of the better ones that do. Claremont McKenna does as well.

Thanks Alexandre. Is there a similar undergraduate program at Harvard? I’m seeking for something related to Politics, IR, World Studies, Public Affairs.
Also, do you recommend another university for this concentrations?

Georgetown

Oops! Sorry - thought you were asking about other schools that had IR

Thanks for the information Barrk, it was really helpful.
And yes Hoggirl, I asked for another universities that had either IR or similar concentrations, so don’t worry!

The Kennedy School of Government is a graduate school. At Harvard University undergraduates enroll in Harvard College, but are eligible to take courses from any of the University’s graduate schools. As someone interested in international relations you might be interested in majoring in government (Harvard-speak for political science), economics, social studies, East-Asian studies, South-Asian studies, African studies, history, or a language. Here are the 2012-3013 majors available to undergraduates:

Although none of the majors are called IR, you will find lots of opportunities to study politics and public affairs in a global context. Lots of Harvard grads work in government, particularly in the U.S. Department of State.

Thank you Fifty, the major I liked is Government wich includes IR in its program.
