I think I know the answer to this one already.

My major in undergrad was totally unrelated to political science (musical composition) and I just happened to take macroecon, which was the 102 course, as an elective. I did well, and I thought it was so easy that there was no need to go back and take the 101 (micro) course. I took more than a year of higher-level math courses, and my GRE quantitative is 790. But several graduate schools (I'm thinking about SAIS in particular) say that not having both macro and micro will hurt my chances. I'm working as an English teacher in China now, so my only option would be some kind of online course. Do you think I really have to do this? I feel like I could probably test out of the course, and it's going to be a waste of my time, but it's not like I can just say that on the application. I'm really trying to do everything I can to make my application competitive, so I guess I have no way out of this. Anybody have any other ideas?
