International Relations Graduates Degree

Hello! If I want to attend a school of diplomacy or study international relations in grad school, how much does my undergraduate school matter? Is it similar to law school? Am I jeopardizing my career chances by going to a “ok” undergrad school? Let me know!

The biggest thing for IR grad school is what you do in college- especially internships and research. Getting those internships takes hustle, whether you are at a big name school or an ‘ok’ undergrad. Start early. Get to know your profs. Check out the colleges with lots of Rhodes/Marshall/Truman/etc scholars- yes, the famous names are well represented- but so are a lot of ‘ok’ names.
