International Relations Internships/Research

I'm deciding between Berkeley and Penn and in terms of research opportunities, Berkeley has a major edge with all its incredible faculty. And in terms of internships, I heard that if I'm aggressive I can get really good internship as it has programs and washington DC etc.

Can anyone tell me about Penn? What internship and research opportunities are available? And the quality? What are some famous profs I can do research with? Please be specific. No offense to anyone, I don't want to hear anything about "it's an Ivy, so therefore it has more resources" or vague statements like "it's close to DC so it's bound to have internships there". I want to hear specifically what the resources are and the rank of their quality if possible.

I'm still deciding and I'm on the last days of decisions. Right now I'm leaning heavily toward Berkeley so...please give me some info! Thanks a bundle :)

My intended major is international relations + a minor in architecture and I plan to go straight to grad school (Johns Hopkins or Columbia) after getting my BA. And if it helps, my area of focus for international relations is East Asia.

Are you in the College of Arts & Sciences or Huntsman?

FYI: You need not go to D.C. to find an excellent internship, if you attend Berkeley. The Hoover Institution is right next door on Stanford’s campus.

hmmm thats true…

oh, I forgot. I got into College of Arts and Science. I don’t plan to dabble in business.

how is the financial aid for penn? i think if you’re paying relativley the same amount for both schools, i’d go to penn because of more individual focus, the fact that you CAN “dabble” in Wharton (you’d be surprised how you can change your mind about things in college especially since many of the wharton classes can be interrelated to international relations), and its proximity to major east coast cities.
