I really love Cornell and planned to apply to it, but I've recently found out that they don't have an IR major (which I plan to major in). How good of a place is Cornell to study IR (w/ the IR concentration, and etc.) in comparison to places like Gtwn or JHU? I'm assuming that I'd major in Government? Thanks.

probably not that great (relatively), atleast to Georgetown

bump 10 char

I'd honestly say that if you want to do IR Georgetown is the place to be. However, if you want more extensive learning opportunties and probably a generally stronger student body, with still an A-class government program, come to Cornell. You won't go wrong either way, it just depends on how devoted you are to IR.

Thanks for the replies. I've heard about the IR concentration, but am not sure what it actually is. Is it a way to major in Government with a focus on IR? Also, I read something about designing your own majors. How does that work?
