I was just admitted (so thrilled!) and I have a dorm question.

I'm going to be majoring in Political Science with an emphasis on Int'l Relations. Does the International Residential College have only international students, or also US students, and what is the percent breakdown?

In general, I'm looking for a new dorm that is not a "party dorm".

Thanks!

Bump…really curious about this and any info would be appreciated.

Parkside International Residential College would be perfect for you. My daughter (an American citizen) lives there and loves it. Some of her suite-mates are also American. Sorry, I don’t know the percentages, but if you write a good special interest application, I think you can get in. Just be sure to send in your housing request ASAP to get priority (even if you are not 100% sure you will be attending USC).

It’s not only International. It just hosts International “dining groups” and whatnot – either for International kids to practice English and other students to practice foreign languages. (At least that’s what it was when I was there; Parkside was brand new when I was a freshman.)

I don’t know if it’s changed, but I remember hearing it was nice, but boring. but, since the Arts and Humanities dorms are next door now, don’t think that’s an issue. Plus Parkside has better food!

I would say that it’s close to 50% international and 50% US students, if not more US students than international ones (at least when I lived there). When I lived there two years ago, in my suite two people were international while the other 6 were from the states. On my floor there was probably only 1 suite which were completely international, with 1 or 2 international kids spread throughout various suites.
