Hello everyone,

My name's Jack. I graduated from highschool June 2013 and am taking a "gap year" right now. I'm working, volunteering as a tutor, playing and writing music. Hopefully I will traveling November-January, to either Senegal or Nepal.

I don't know what I want to study in college, and that's part of the reason I'm taking a year off. But I do know some things that I love to do. And these are:

Travel
Learn languages
Teach/tutor
Play/write music

I got bit by the travel bug after I traveled to Senegal this past summer for a month. I speak high-intermediate French, and Senegal being an old French colony, I spoke primarily French. I also ADORED learning the local African languages there, such as Pulaar and Wolof...

But do these interests have any career or study value?

As I look for colleges that I might like, the idea of going to an international school excites me. If it went to an international university, like one in Paris, for example, I could get the travel thrill, speak a different language, all while getting a good education (yet I don't know what I want to study).

Does anyone have recommendations or advice regarding good international colleges? Or even advice on how my interests could play out in a course of study or career?

Thanks SO MUCH. All help is appreciate.
