This is a degree offered at my local state university. The University of Oklahoma. I want to know what you can do with this degree and if it's worth it over say a poli sci degree for a government intelligence job or national security.

If not, then is there anything else that sounds better.

Here are a few links to the degree sheet and the website for the major specifically.

International Security Studies check sheet: http://checksheets.ou.edu/intlsecurity.pdf

Thanks for any responses.

It’s too specific, government agencies don’t provide any preference for candidates who have these degrees and because it’s so narrow it won’t provide outlets for other employment opportunities.

stick with your EE degree. stay the hell away from a narrow degree. signal analysis is an important part of defense and national security.

Reviewed your sites - why not major in the “broader” dgree of “international stidies” and minor in international security studies.

Whether to major in Poli-Sci vs. IS is a personal choice and you should review the curricula for both.

Most likely, you’re looking at Grad school at some point for either degree to progress, whether it be government postions, non-profits, or think-tanks.

Try and intern in DC or NY in your area of interest in the summers.
