International Student looking for full ride

@MYOS1634 LMU because of their Trustee (full ride) but only 10 are offered annually. Not worth it?

UMinn TC Is awesome, but they don’t have any full rides available.

I don’t know whether they have full rides or not - I know they have very very generous merit scholarships for some students they really want (especially if the student is NOT applying to Business, CBS, or Engineering - like, applying to Biological Math or CS in CLA rather than Biology in CBS/CS in Engineering). They don’t have numbers though about how much to how many. :frowning:

I don’t know how the LMU Trustee works but I see why you’re doing it (throw the dice, see what happens, after all these scholarships do exist and you might be the lucky one - right?)

@MYOS1634 Unfortunately, I do want to major in engineering (where it’s offered).

Right. But, do you think I should swap LMU with UNC CH

UNC-CH is a terrible choice for needy out of state students.

@gigichuck looks like you and I are in the same situation…

@IvyJay1 Hey. Let me guess, the international-needing-full-ride situation?

@gigichuck Lolz hell yeah…

@gigichuck Are you on Facebook or Snapchat??

UNC-CH has the Robertson, but it’s highly selective.

But so does Duke, and I’m applying there. LMU it is

I don’t want to second guess myself too much, I guess. Registered for the SAT with essay today, so, next step: test prep :-S

Hopefully you’ve started test prep already

:-SS Not really @MYOS1634 I’ve taken a full practice test tho. Got a 690 on R&WL, but I did the math without pen & paper and no calc (even the calc section) and got a 690, so I feel confident about an 800. R&WL though, I need to work on

@41ADAN thank you so much! Alright, I’ll definitely look into what you did with articles. @gigichuck I think you should try it as well to improve your eng score to the upper 700s. I think let’s use articles mainly tested on the SAT-science,history,social science and literary articles and analyse them the way the SAT r+w section would want us, like what’s the main idea, what can be infered from the writer etc. @Barekk Yes  the one in Missourie, and haha @Controlla yeah a 1900!

@gigichuck how did you get an unsolicited fee waiver?

It’s very hard to add each +10. Just one mistake and you could get 760 or 730, which is why holistic colleges don’t focus on the exact score as long as you get a high score, but for numbers based scholarships each +10 counts. So practice, practice, practice. Each mistake = similar questions till you don’t make a mistake ten times in a row for several days.

@Charleigh18 I’m not sure. I think I may have visited their page at collegeweeklive on international students day a few months ago.

@gigichuck so you didn’t request it they just gave it to you?

@Charleigh18 i dont think anybody requests those , colleges just give em out to chosen students.

i read that somewhere yesterday
