International Student Looking to Study Computer Science at Georgia Tech

Hi all,

I am an international student from Canada looking to study computer science at GT next year, and work in the US (Bay Area) after graduating. I was wondering how the great co-op/job opportunities at GT are for international students? My major concern is that co-ops and jobs might look for only green card holders, US citizens, or Georgia residents (and I belong to none of the above). Can anyone comment on whether employers looking for computer science bachelors will require citizenship/residency when recruiting for co-ops and jobs?

If anyone can also comment on what mid-to-upper range starting salaries are like for CS grads from GT and what percentage of CS majors can expect to make these figures, that would be great.

Thanks!
Sin/Cos

If you have a F-1 Student Visa you can do co-ops unless the company requires citizenship for security reasons.
I’m not sure how many companies that offer co-op are in that group. You should contact GT and ask.
