International Student SCEA chances?

<p>Hey, I'm an Asian who's lived in Sri Lanka for 14 years now. I was wondering if having lived here for 14 years would increase my chances in anyway? A lot of people in Sri Lanka get a URM advantage. BTW At least one a year gets accepted to Stanford in our school.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.6 in freshman year, 3.72 in sophomore year, and 4.0 in my junior year. (all unweighted)</p>

<p>SAT superscore: 2290 M:800 CR:740 W:750</p>

<p>SAT IIs: Bio&Math 2 in October</p>

<p>ECs: Soccer varsity four years,(our team is the national school champions) Tennis varsity four years, Founder of Squash club, Member of inventors club for three years, Junior rotary 3 years, played piano for about 6 years.(pianist/lead vocalist of band, took part in concerts)</p>

<p>Work experience: Worked at the ministry of science and technology, more of a student observer thingy for a year</p>

<p>Worked at an MNC engineering firm for 3 years as coordinator on a paid internship. For 5 weeks of my summer hols.</p>

<p>Community service: Taught Korean to people free of charge who were to take a exam that would gain them entry to Korea as workers where they'd get higher incomes. For 2 years. 3 of my 'students' have passed the test and have gone to Korea</p>

<p>Worked at elders home for a year</p>

<p>Went to an orphanage school and taught kids soccer for 3 years. for about a month during summer break.</p>

<p>Awards: Edexcel high achievers awards, and nothing else..there aren't many awards here in SL. Should I write that in my addditional info?</p>

<p>Rank: unsure but most probably in the top 10% probably 6/135.</p>

<p>O levels: 10 grade As and 1 grade B</p>

<p>AS levels: 4As all over 90%</p>

<p>Recs: Possibly pretty good.</p>

No, you don’t get any advantage. All international students are at the same disadvantage. Sri Lankans are considered South East Asians, just like Indians, and they are not considered URM. URMs consist of: Blacks, Native Americans, And Hispanics.</p>
