international student scholarship help
hi,
I am an international student from Egypt. I have a sat score of 2100 ,sat2 scores of 740 in biology,760 in math, 640 in physics ,a TOEFL score of 100 ,and a 4.0 GPA.
so, can someone recommend American colleges that can offer me full scholarships??? because my father is not financially able to pay for colleges abroad.

Search through this thread, and you will find many discussions on this topic, including lists of schools which offer financial aid to international students.

See http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/151609-international-student-aid.html

Aim for all the top liberal arts colleges, unless you plan to major in engineering; in addition, look at the “full ride”’ thread and into competitive full rides based on merit at other universities than those 2 types. Depending on your achievements, don’t forget to apply to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT or Stanford, keeping in mind they’re complete wild cards but they’re also among the most generous for financial aid.

so do you think I have a chance to be awarded a full ride scholarship based on the scores above ???and can I be accepted into Harvard and top tier schools ???

Applying to Harvard (or any of the top schools) is like playing the lottery. Just because you can, theoretically, win, doesn’t mean you will. Harvard rejects students with higher scores than yours, and has in the past accepted students with lower scores than yours. It’s all dependent on what else, besides test scores, you offer to the university, and what your competition is like.

Your admission to Harvard will not depend on scores, it’ll depend on your having done something extraordinary (or not). Since you only mentioned your scores, we don’t know if you’ve won prizes or discovered something or created a charity or fought incredible odds. In any case, with Harvard and such schools, it’s impossible to predict whether anyone “will” get admitted. All I can say is that, if you’ve done something extraordinary, you may have a chance. For top-tier schools (I’d say use the liberal arts list up to 60) your odds for getting a full scholarship increase if you apply in the Midwest and the South, because most other students only know NYC, New England, and California. Applying to other areas is less competitive (but still quite competitive).
In all cases, you can apply. Look at my other posts, I even made a list of schools that don’t have application fees.

Not likely with your scores. Do you have any hooks?

unfortunately, I don’t :S

In that case, you should look at slightly less selective schools than Harvard, etc. Look at schools in the American south and the central part of the US where there are some excellent schools but less international competition.
