Hey, I'm applying for RD to Harvard and other ivy leagues as an international student and I just needed some information.

My case is a little weird, which is why I haven't found much information already on CC. I come from a British system (GCSEs + A levels) and my school is located in the middle East. My SAT score is 2120 and my SAT 2 are Maths 730 Chem 750. My GCSEs rank me in the top 2% against UK students, all As at AS level and all A*predictions for A2. I was just wondering will my SAT score be enough for ivy leagues such as Harvard to continue looking through my file?

In terms of EC: I'm a passionate musician specializing in piano. I have won numerous competitions, hold the highest exam diploma in the country I live in, many concerts and masterclasses for world-top artists such as Lang Lang, music scholar in my school and I sent a music supplement in to my universities. I am also first flute in my school orchestra. In terms of my leadership, I was student council, prefect and now elected as Head Girl.

I was wondering do I have a shot? My SAT score is quite low. Also, I just got an interview at Harvard and was wondering should I mention the fact that I just got accepted into Cambridge?

Thanks so much! Really appreciated!

It seems like you are a strong candidate, but why go to Harvard when you got in to Cambridge? If Harvard doesn’t accept you though, some other Ivy school probably will!

I really don’t know if it would seem like you were bragging or not if you teel them you got accepted to Cambridge. It could help or hurt you in my opinion. Maybe it isn’t worth the risk. I do not know.

Mentioning that you were accepted to Cambridge can only hurt. If you are directly asked about other acceptances (which I doubt you will be), then don’t lie, obviously, but even if they ask where you have applied I wouldn’t bring it up. The point of the interview is to evaluate you as a candidate for Harvard. An acceptance to Cambridge, which evaluates a completely different set of criteria from what Harvard evaluates, is irrelevant to the Harvard application process. IMO, it would be extremely weird to mention a Cambridge acceptance.

Yeah, I think Holocene is right actually. It would seem almost desperate, which would be weird since you got in to Cambridge, hehe.

yeah what i meant was if they asked me about it, of course im not going to mention it if they dont ask, that just seems a bit arrogant. my only other thing is that I took the SATs 3 times which I dont know if it will hurt. Thank you guys sooo much tho x
