I'm currently studying commerce majoring in finance in Australia and looking at coming to the US to study and i'm unsure which college is the best one to select from. I'd be living on campus so something with a good party/social life, facilities but also during the weekend have sites to see and visit.

I'm looking for a college that has a good business faculty but isn't crazy competitive as I want to enjoy my time and explore rather than spend all day hitting the books.

My current options are:

Arizona state
butler university
California state

Grand valley state
Michigan state
Old dominion uni

St Norbert Collage (free accommodation )
University of north carolina
Uni of Mississippi

University of south florida
University of southern Mississippi
University of Tennessee
warrington college of business admin

sshazam: There is no such college as California State. There are 23 California State campuses (Cal States for short) or 9 University of California campuses (Berkley,UCLA,Santa Barbara etc…). Are you transfer or Freshman?

As you are australian remember that the drinking age here is 21. Are you over 21? Your visa will probably have an expectation of being on the right side of the law. If you are just here to party, it is a thought for you to consider.

The University of Tennessee in Knoxville has one of the top-rated programs in logistics/supply chain management; it isn’t finance, but it has excellent job placement for its graduates. And, the College of Business Administration (now the Haslam College of Business) just received a $50 million donation; so look for upgrades in physical plant, teaching, etc.: http://bus.utk.edu/

Southern Miss is close to New Orleans, Emerald Coast of Florida, Mobile and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They have a good business school and Finance program in particular. Their International Business degree students are very sharp when they graduate and USM has a top Accounting program with 100% placement each semester.
