International Student with aid requirement,Chance me at Cornell and others

I am an Indian student applying for economics and international relations
I can affford like 25k $ a year so require aid for anything over that
SAT Score :- 1540( 740 CRW + 800 Math)
Toefl- 110/120
Top 100 National Ranks in a couple of math and economics olympiads
Coming to my high school results - My school doesnt give GPA or class rank
And corrections are pretty strict so my percentage is like 75-80% However I am consistently in the Top 10% of my class
10th Grade- ICSE- 92.33%
Mid Year report should be 85%+ too
11th is 75% but I did request my counsellor to mention that I was among the top 5 students in the class and I am confident she did in her recommendations
EC:- Internship at the Economic Development Board of my State Government
Lots of Model UN (Chaired,organised,Won a ton of awards including Best del at Harvard MUN in my city)
Gave a couple of TEDx talks
President of the Tedx, Quiz and interact club in my school
Vice Head Boy of my school.
Another Internship with a Real estate firm in there Finance department
Worked as a trainer/tutor for younger kids in international politics
Organic Farming (Ran one out of my house)
Spanish language learnt

Recommendations - Quite brilliant (From economics and business studies teacher)
Have one from an employer who i did an internship under as well and I guess its going to be really good

Legacy Status- My sister finished her undergrad from the class of 2017 at cornell (full scholarship)
My Dad did a 4 month training program in duke ( 2012) during which I stayed at their campus( Not sure that counts as legacy though)

You know what you are doing as evidenced by your outstanding selection of colleges & universities.

Cornell is outstanding because it gives one Ivy League cred with a touch of Big 10 excitement. Brilliant hardworking motivated students.

I know all of the schools on your list. Oddly, some get turned off after visiting Duke–which may be the premier university in the South. I don’t know why. My point is that you need to visit after being accepted & decide for yourself. My relatives love Duke, but Durham & even some parts of Duke’s campus may not be so attractive. The education is great though.

Consider rephrasing “Vice Head Boy of my school” as it doesn’t translate well. Consider: Vice President of the Student Body.

Moot point as the OP also asked the question 2 months ago, so the applications have already been submitted. However, one should not rephrase, IMO. One should assume that the AO is acquainted with terminology from foreign schools, and teachers or GCs may reference the role. Not everything revolves around America and her use of English. :slight_smile:
