International Students for IB?

Hi,

I was just wondering how difficulty it is for international students with MBA degree to get an IB job.
I am assuming that even for an average domestic Caucasian person to get an IB job will be difficult, let alone for Asian International students.
So just how difficult is it? Are there no international students in IB business in US?

As well, is it just as difficult for an Asian international student to get a IB job in Hong Kong or UK?

Thank you in advance.

I know two Asian undergrads who are international students in banking. One speaks very good english and the other does not. However the one who does not speak good english is the vice-president of the Cornell Investment Club.

It comes down to you being smart and lucky. However, I know most Asians give themselves English names that they write on their resumes. I think it helps.

But for the most part BB firms hire anyone who is smart. There are more smart people looking for IB jobs than there are jobs available. So if you are smart and driven you need to be lucky or you need to network and get to know people. Most firms hire you before they ask for your citizenship status. I know some Caucasians who were not even selected for interviews so it really does not have much to do with nationality or race. The CEO of Citigroup was born in India. Ibanks nowadays are very diverse and most investment bankers are exposed to that diversity. So if you are smart and lucky you will find something.

I dont know anything about hong kong.

you may get hired, but the chances of getting your visa approved aren't that great

What are the chances of someone recruited in US and sent to the UK/Asia?
