International students from Australia applying to U.S schools

@totemboy814: you are better off calling the admissions office of each respective colleges and universities you’re interested in.

P.S, I’ve also applied to Brown and Stanford, although, I now reside in the U.S.

Good Luck!

how did you go IBAustralia?

^ I’m still waiting to hear from the Ivies. Did you see my message?

Aha all the Aussies are here~~~~anyone from western Australia…it seems that u guys are all from east coast…I planned to apply this fall, hope I can get in Dartmouth lol

^ NSW here! So you’re correct. Just curious; why Dartmouth in particular?

P.S: welcome, and I am happy to lend you a hand if you need one as you begin what I would call a stressful path, to say the lest. :)

Same reason with everyone The LAC type of education in Dartmouth is what I’ve always been longing for. And it’s just my type of uni, though I think my best match is duke.(but the FA for intl students in duke… Uhhh…)

Nice to meet u IBaustralia, ru already inamerica?

Yeah, I’m in the States as a resident.

Are you also looking at actual LACs like Williams?

Wow lucky u

God I would be so grateful if I can get into Williams…but my first choices are always those generous schools…FC limitation cry

Hey zhaoxdsheldon! I’m a west-coaster too!
I’m glad I’m not the only one anymore, Ivy League applicants are pretty rare over here :P

Hey highoracle(nice name), Nice to meet u! Me too I’m so happy to see ur post~~ru planning to apply this yr?

I’ve actually already applied for the Class of 2016. I was accepted into Harvard with a Likely Letter and now I’m waiting on decisions from Yale, Princeton and Stanford. At the moment the biggest issue for me is financial aid. My initial financial aid offer from Harvard was not good - I’m actually in the middle of writing an email to them to ask for reconsideration.

OMG, its thrilling to hear that WA now has a harvard. big congrats to u, Harvard’s need blind won’t disappoint u. (But ru family income seems to be far above average, how comes u need FA )

i’ve heard of at least 4-5 people now that have been accepted to harvard which is quite a few from australia! MIT usually have 1 australian a year

That is really a lot! Are they Australians or internationals in australia do u know that?

they are all australians

Wow Harvard is really generous this yr. Plz keep being generous, Harvard! Hope those admitted can share some info and experience here

4-5 students admitted to Harvard or Yale from Australia isn’t too unusual. For the class of 2015, I think there were 5 of us admitted to Yale, a similar number admitted to Harvard, and three cross admits.

Who’s going to Wharton/Penn? Hit me up I’ll convince you to come. =D

most of the harvards are now through legacies which is weighted heavily
