International students in elite colleges in US

actually i think all those top five business schools are pretty much similar....it's really up to individuals....
and
if you wanna go to wall street....i think going to stern should have an advantage in some degree

timmy, I heard as long as you r a international student, it is very hard for us to find jobs on Wall Street, is that true? I am going to apply business schools too (I speak Cantonese too, currently in Canada)

No it is not true.

I think it's not 100% true...but it is harder for us to get a Wall street job since we are on F1 visa...definitely harder than residences and citizens..
Even so, if you're extraordinarily good...then I think they'll hire you...also there's something called OPT..which allows us to work as an intern for one year after graduation.
Just my 2c

phrozn: Congratulations! you will thank all the schools that rejected you. Berkeley is an awesome place and school.

timmy: huanying, huanying! ;)

How do you define elite? It certainly has a variable meaning to each individual.

timmy, but if you use your OPT after college, that means you have no off-compus internship compare to other people, and that will definitely make you a lot less impressive comparably.

Employers recruit without regard to citizenship, unless it's a government-related job.

I hope so.

Re liangshengtm: That's true...but does it really have such a big difference? I
I don't know since I've just transfered. I'll try to find out if
that really matters.

Re CalX: Xie Xie!

Timmy: I was stuggling on that issue for a long time already, I think maybe you can ask your college's counselor or director

but one thing for sure, without good internships will make the situation much worse

A lot of employers will also recruit foreign students to work in their branches in those countries. If you're from the Pacific Rim, you're in good shape.
