International Students long wait time

Hi,

its been just over 8 weeks now since i applied - im an international student from the united kingdom, and it says on the uoft admissions websites that we should hear back in 6-8 weeks. I’ve noticed that on the forum on the Join uoft portal that some people are in a similar position, and the general answer from admissions officers is to just be patient and that they will make sure all offers are sent by May. However, may is very late for me to be able to make a decision, given that i would need to accept an offer to a different school perhaps before that (my Western offer expires in April, for instance), or plan for what to do if i dont get in, as well as book flights etc to move country. Is this just a general stock answer, or should i expect a more major delay in response to my application? I applied for Vic, if that slows down your application in any way.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone

The supplemental application to Vic will slow down your application. The university will not send out a decision until Vic has made their own decision. An acceptance from U of T will look something like: Congratulations! You have been accepted to the University of Toronto in XXX college. They need to know which college to slot you into before they send out the acceptance to the whole university. Since applications just closed (or are about to close), Vic probably hasn’t even started their reviews of their applications.

Many people will hear around March 20. This is not a firm date, it’s just what I’ve seen from following U of T admissions the past few years.
