International Students Welcome?

Hey guys, I'm a 20 year old Irish man coming to the US in the fall. It'll be my first time outside europe, so i'm a little anxious. Can anyone tell me is there a good reception for foreign students coming here? Thanks :)

Where are you going? Is it a visit or a semester abroad?

Going to New York, it’s a study abroad for a semester.

NYC loves foreign students, it is a melting pot of immigrants. You will enjoy wide diversity among your classmates. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience not only American culture, but those of around the globe.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know are the irish welcome in the states? Hvaen’t been there before you see.

Where in Ireland are you from? You must know some female relatives that come to NY just to shop! Huge Irish population in different boroughs of the city. Lots of great Irish music too. Black 47, The Screaming Orphans, etc.

Mid west region, Limerick. I don’t unfortunately, the recession has put an end to that, but you’d hear of people heading over for weekends during the celtic tiger. Ah sweet :)
