International Students

Elberet: I 'll just send it to you as a private mesage:)

Chilanga: You are totally welcome:))))))))) The exam didn't keep me that late, indeed. It is just always crazy times after midterms....I just checked the answers to the test. It wasn't nearly as bad as i thought! YAy!!!!!
Hm...what i don't like about yale. Ok, first - the flights from here to my home country - ARE SO EXPENSIVE......... Oh, dear. What else? Well, sometimes I have troubles with my English and that makes me a little depressed. Especially with writing...and they make you write so many papers. (But they have wiring tutors! They are very helpful!) That's, however, just my personal problem. What else? I didn't know it would be so hard to figure out bad things.. Hm...the housing system is a bit weird. You get to choose your roomates/suitemates your sophomore year - and it is HARD. But fun:)) Not a good example, ok, I know. But i really cannot think of anything esle!! Seriously. The only things that come to my mind are just some personal worries that do not really have anything to do with Yale in particular, but just with the fact that you stay in a foreign country without your parents. For example - a constant trouble of making decisions here and there. Oh, I remember what I don't like - you have to pay fees if you are one day late for the registration for the semester. Also, sometimes your classes' schedules don't work out perfectly, especially you might get into trouble of having two finals on the same day. But somehting tells me that Harvard would have the same problem - it is just because you choose your classes yourself.....

More advantages. I am sure you heard about the new financial policy. There are reducing the parental contributions substantially and are gonna pay for the international flights. Also, there is this new Summer award thing - you get to do summer programs abroad and they would help you pay for it. ( Because of that i'll be doing one summer session language course abroad. Just bought my tickets to Europe. Yaya!! )

Second, they have an amazing Career Office; and an amazing international fellowships office. You can get amazing amount of help for anything - from your resume writing to figuring out how to d this or that internship in Kenya or Germany:)))

Well...I am not giving good answers to your questons, but I don't know about anything that I would put into "don't like section" . So , again - any specific questions??

As for you visiting. Sure, we can meet. That's not a problem at all. I'll send you my e-mail. Just e-mail me and we'll figure out something.

For now - come up with some more concrete questions.
-Cheers

Elberet: if you want to stay in my suite, you need to contact me and admissions as soon as possible.

Chilanga: So? are you coming?

Didn't hear from you guys since my last post. That's a bit discouraging....
