International Studies major

Hi,

I’ve been searching on the BC website for the answer to this question, but I have not had any luck, so CC please help!

It says that for international studies major, a separate application is needed at the end of freshmen year. What happens to the students who declared their major as international studies when admitted to BC, but gets rejected for the major at the end of freshmen year? Do those students have the opportunity to declare any other major at the Morrissey College of Arts & Science?

The BC website for international studies says that it is a highly competitive major, so I’m worried :frowning:

Thank you!

yes, if you are in Morrissey, you can declare any major for which you have complete the prereqs.

So, for example, if you have an interest in Econ, take some lower division Econ courses as well as those for the International Studies major.

As an aside, check out Philosophy, which at BC is awesome, and gets a lotta love from students after taking their first class or two in the Core. (Quite a few PL double majors or minors.)

Ah I see! Thank you!!! and yes, I’ll definitely have to check out philosophy
