<p>Does anyone know how the International Studies Program is like at Fordham? I am very itnerested in studying this, and I am curious about their program. Anyone that has studied Internation Studies at Fordham, what are you personal opinions on it? Thanks.</p>
<p>The International Studies Program is really interesting at Fordham however it is only offered as a major at the Lincoln Center Campus. It includes a Core of four courses, a choice of one of three Tracks for the majority of courses and a Language requirement of proficiency plus two advanced courses in that language, as well as a thesis requirement for Senior Year. The 3 tracks include: Regional (Asia, Africa, Latin America or Europe), International (a collection of all four regions), and an Expertise track which includes the student’s choice of classes specially designed by the student and his or her assigned Adviser in the IS (International Studies) Program.</p>
<p>In addition, there are study abroad programs that the International Studies Dept. encourages its students to do in their junior year, not to mention GO! Trips (Global Outreach) that give students an opportunity to do volunteer work and home stays in different parts of the world. There are also study tours that students can take with professors at Fordham where they tour a country with specific locations on the itinerary that go along with the course they take for their major while they are overseas. These study tours are only 2 weeks long and take place in the summer, right after school lets out. </p>
<p>I am also very happy to inform you of the International Studies Conference which took place for the second year in a row this past spring. This conference provides speakers and lectures on topics under IS done by professionals in different IS fields from UN workers to Human Rights advocates as well as professionals from Policy Organizations.<br>
