International transfer chances?

<p>hi guys! i have a friend who is a freshman in a community college in China that follows the American system fully, and she hopes to transfer to Amherst, Middlebury or Wellesley for Fall 2008. She's 1/4 Portuguese, 1/4 Vietnamese and 1/2 Chinese, will this give her a special ethnicity status in the Adcoms' views? Also, given that she can get and maintain a 4.0 (out of a possible 4.3) throughout the year, will she have a good shot at these top LACs? btw, she's also got a real talent in art and design and has an impressive record of winning many regional and international competitions in thie area. </p>

<p>Now, I know that Amherst's art department isn't that great, so will they be more likely to take in someone who shows real talent in art?</p>

<p>I'm also an international student at a public school in the states...What I can say is that transfer is not that hard...What is EXTREMELY hard is that FINANCIAL AID!!!</p>
